 | BACK | | The collection of Clocks and Watches consists of objects from the 17th century to modern times. In the collection there are clocks and watches made by Dutch, French, German, Swiss, and British craftsmen whose masterpieces became desirable and expensive objects of fashion. Among them - works by the world famous Parisian maker Breguet; John Whitehurst & Sons of Derby; and more Clock-making was an important part of local Birmingham trade, so the works of Birmingham craftsmen are also well represented in the collection.
The collection allows the exploration of the complicated movements and intricate decoration of clocks and watches which reflects various styles in fashion at different times.
