Communicating in the past
Samina chose an inkstand at Thinktank as her favourite object:

“Nowadays there are a lot of different ways of communicating like text, email, phone etc and back then writing was one of the few ways of communicating. It was interesting to read that the inkstand was made of ‘papier mâché’, which was even used to make furniture such as chairs - quite a shocking thought.

The reason I liked this item was because I used to be a big fan of fountain pens, my dad once bought an old school desk which had attached ink-holes in it and I would use that. I also liked how they were very decorative.”
